Darshill, Shepton Mallet
These two wonderful mediaeval vaulted rooms had been carefully excavated by the owners over a period of years. They had removed the old plaster, raked out all of the joints and levelled the floor ready for us to come and apply a lime putty
(non-hydraulic) plaster.
We applied the dubbing coat and the scratch coat by spray gun application; to penetrate deep into the voids and provide a
fantastic key onto the stonework, there is nothing quite like firing mortar from a render gun.
The next two coats were hand trowel applied by Dan and myself and then rubbed down to leave a textured finish.
