To compliment the natural benefits of the lime plasters and renders, we use quality

limewashes, distempers, mineral and plant-based paints, stains, oils and varnishes. These not only add another layer of water repellance to external lime render but are proven healthier to live with inside the home.

Your home doesn't have to be a Grade 1 listed period property to benefit from the healthy, environmentally friendly natural lime products that we specialise in using. Lime mortars, renders and plasters coupled with natural paints are equally at home within modern homes as within an Elizabethan mansion house. Lime plasters and mortars can be applied to any modern brick, block or timber substrate, as long as it is properly prepared.

You can feel the health benefits as soon as you walk into a home with natural products; the air seems cleaner, less toxic, less sterile and there is a sense of freshness that only natural products can bring.

Unlike solvent based petro-chemical household paints, mineral and plant-based paints do not 'off-gas' harmful VOC's in large amounts. 'Normal' paints can be up to two thirds solvent based, and the harmful fumes that they give off are being attributated to the increase in asthma and other lung and chest-related diseases amongst children and adults, according to recent studies.  

Lime is both re-cyclable and bio-degradable and is an essential ingredient in any modern or period home, to help create a naturally healthy living environment.
